TACCF is excited to welcome our Day 2 Keynote Speaker, Nathan C. Chappell, AI Expert and Phlanthropy Pioneer

Jan Johnson is the President and CEO of Jordan Johnson, Inc., a global consulting and coaching firm rooted in the principles of the Malcolm Baldrige Performance Excellence Framework. With over three decades of experience, Jan collaborates with executive leaders across industries to drive transformational, sustainable, and competitive performance improvement. Her expertise encompasses organizational assessment, strategic planning, leadership development, team building, change management, and process improvement.

Jan’s impact is evident across her domestic portfolio, which includes 12 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award recipients who have received 14 awards. These distinguished clients include: Boeing Airlift and Tanker (1998), Clarke American (now Harland Clarke)(2001), Chugach School District (2001), Boeing Aerospace Support (2003), Park Place Lexus (2005), Schneck Medical Center (2011), Hill Country Memorial Hospital (2014), St. David’s Healthcare (2014), Elevations Credit Union (2014 and 2020), Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center (2018), Alamo Colleges (2018 and 2020), White Memorial Hospital (2019), and Freese and Nichols (2024). She has also consulted with leading national organizations such as GE, Eaton Corporation, Vera Bradley, Cessna Aircraft, and Lockheed Martin.

Jan has served for more than 30 years as an Examiner, Senior Examiner, Master Examiner, for the Baldrige Award and has trained Examiners and Senior Examiners for the national program. She has served as a judge for state, regional, and national award programs including Partners in Performance Excellence Award (Massachusetts and New York), Texas Award for Performance Excellence, Secretary of the Air Force Quality Award, and U.S. Army’s President’s Quality Award.

On the international stage, Jan has contributed to global excellence.  She coached Boeing Australia to achieve the Australian Quality Award and Infosys in its successful pursuit of the Rajiv Gandhi National Quality Award – India.  Additionally, she trained examiners for the China Quality Award, and also trained Eaton Corporation's examiner in Monte Carlo, Amsterdam, Beijing, and Shanghai. She also consulted with the Emirate of Abu Dhabi conducting a Baldrige-based assessment in Australia of a potential project management organization. Finally, Jan was honored to deliver the keynote address at the 6th Annual International Quality Conference in Cairo, Egypt, focusing on global leadership

In the education sector, Jan has been a catalyst for performance transformation.  In additional to coaching Chugach School District in their successful pursuit of the Baldrige award, she was one of two Texas coaches for the Baldrige in Education Initiative (BIEN). She led strategic and team-building work with San Antonio ISD, Southwest ISD (San Antonio), and with Fulton County Schools in Georgia.  She presented “Baldrige in Education” for the master’s program in Educational Leadership for St. Mary’s University.  Finally, she delivered a pre-conference session on Systematic Problem Solving at the “No-Excuses – Any Child Can Learn” conference in Ontario, California. 

Jan is widely recognized for her depth of knowledge in performance excellence systems, her ability to cultivate high-performing organizational cultures, and her strategic insight. She blends proven frameworks with practical, actionable tools—tailoring solutions to each client’s context and delivering results that endure.  She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Arts from Our Lady of the Lake University.

 Nathan serves as Chief AI Officer at Virtuous Software where he supports AI integration to help nonprofit organizations amplify mission at scale. In 2019, he founded Fundraising.AI, a global advocacy initiative promoting the Responsible and Beneficial use of AI, and launched the first open-source framework for nonprofits, now represented in over 140 countries. Nathan also co-hosts the Fundraising.AI Podcast, recognized as one of the world’s top nonprofit technology podcasts.

 Nathan’s expertise is sought globally, as evidenced by his advisory roles with the OpenAI Users Forum, the AI for Good Foundation, the International Committee for Information Technology Standards (INCITS), and the Forbes Technology Council.
