Dr. Adrienne Thompson

Dr. Adrienne Thompson has held a variety of roles at Dallas College throughout her career, including early experiences as an early childhood education teacher, adjunct faculty, and advisor. Her work with partnerships and grants began at the Bill J. Priest Center as a resource development assistant in 2006. She moved to the El Centro Campus in 2011, where she was coordinator of resource development and then a grant project manager. In 2015, Dr. Thompson began work with the Goldman Sachs 10ksb Program as director of outreach and recruitment. She created marketing plans and built partnerships, leading to the recruitment of more than one hundred small businesses. She became Goldman Sachs 10ksb Program business support director in 2017, tracking data from alumni and collecting data on program success. In addition, she implemented and streamlined processes to manage grant priorities and program objectives. By 2017 Dr. Thompson had moved to the Foundation Office, where she developed and formalized the sponsorship partner program for Dallas College. Within two years, she generated more than $600,000 in sponsorships and grants. Today, as Senior Director of Sponsored Programs and Post-Awards for compliance and sponsorships, Dr. Thompson oversees more than 115+ grants and stewards more than $290 million in funding with other leaders. In addition, she works to ensure the college is expanding the sponsorship program to align with the college’s strategic priorities. Dr. Thompson has an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership and Management from Capella University, a Master of Science in Leadership from Walden University, a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Grambling State University, and an Associate of Applied Science in Child Development from Dallas College (Brookhaven).

 Dr. Thompson has professional experience and skills are as a strategist, project manager, grants (developer, compliance, and manager), sponsorships, team builder, connector, arranger, and facilitator.
